Intended Use : The DS5 instrument, dispenser and associated reagent kit are intended for the measurement of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in blood samples. HbA1c is used to monitor diabetes. The system's small size and ease of use makes it ideal for main laboratory, clinic or satellite laboratory settings. Features :
Scientific Principle: The DS5 uses cation exchange chromatography in conjunction with gradient
elution to separate human haemoglobin subtypes and variants from haemolysed
whole blood. The separated haemoglobin fractions are monitored by means
of absorption of light and the chromatogram obtained is recorded and stored
by the internal computer. A software program in the instrument performs
the analysis of the chromatogram and generates a results report on the
integral thermal printer. Operation: Sample Preparation : 20µL whole blood Throughput : Five minutes per sample Performance
